Scottsdale AZ is located in the Sonoran Desert and sits in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains. The city also borders on Phoenix and is considered one of the country’s most desirable communities. There is a vibrant downtown which many feel is Arizona’s best urban center. The city’s downtown is populated by 320 retail shops, 90 restaurants, and more than 80 galleries.

The city sits in Maricopa County AZ. The city was named after its founder, Winfield Scott and has a population of just over 250,000. The city is 11 miles wide and 31 miles long and shares boundaries with several other municipalities.

The city offers a choice of lifestyles – suburban or urban, singles or retired, or family-friendly. New and current residents can choose from a wide variety of residences including multi-million dollar estates.
Many who live in the city enjoy the outdoor life. The area offers incredible adventures ranging from hiking to whitewater adventures. One of the most popular outdoor activities is floating down the Lower Salt River.
If you’re planning a vacation to the area, it doesn’t have to be expensive. There are many activities which are free of charge. On Thursdays, there is no admission to the Museum of Contemporary Art and on Tuesdays, visitors get in for free at the Desert Botanical Garden.
