A team of Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe fire crews worked to tame a fire that engulfed two Scottsdale apartments and left three people displaced early Friday morning, fire officials said.
About 6:30 a.m., fire crews responded to reports of a first-alarm fire at Dwell Apartment Homes near 70th Street and Palm Lane in Scottsdale.
The fire is believed to have crawled up to the second floor after igniting on the lower level, Chief Mark DeBruyckere of Scottsdale Fire Department said.
DeBruyckere said fire crews were able to "knock down" the fire quickly and that only two apartment homes were affected by the blaze.
DeBruyckere said residents were already safely outside of their apartments when fire crews arrived and there were no reported injuries.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
